at Wild Care!

###

Eastham. July 3, 2019 Wild Care, a wildlife rehabilitation center located
in Eastham, hosted their 4th Annual “Wild Baby Shower” on Saturday, June
29th from 10 AM - 3 PM at their facility, located at 10 Smith Ln, Eastham,
MA. Attendees joined in on a celebration of all of WIld Care’s precious
wild babies! Guests were treated to guided tours of some of Wild Care’s
outdoor enclosures, including the Seabird Therapy Pool area. Wild Care
Staff and interns hosted hourly meet-and-greet presentations with Wild
Care’s Educational Animal Ambassadors; GARV the Eastern Box Turtle, and
Nickerson and Up Up the Eastern Screech Owls.

Since its founding in 1993, Wild Care has accepted over 27,000 wild
creatures, representing over 275 species of native birds, mammals, reptiles
& amphibians. Wild Care receives over 1,800 wild animals per year for
treatment. In 2018, 45% of their patients were tiny orphans in need of
assistance.

>From our Executive Director, Stephanie Ellis. “Thank you to all who
attended Wild Care's 4th Annual "Wild Baby" Shower on June 29th. Thanks to
you, we raised over $1,300 in donations, and received DOZENS of supplies
and gift cards valued over $1,000. Your support directly helps us to care
for, the orphaned birds, squirrels, opossums, mice, and ducklings - in our
care. Thank you especially to Undercover Tent & Party
<https://tentrentalscapecod.com/> for their donation of a large tent for
our event. We are grateful!”

“We are extremely thankful for the support of the community,” states
Stephanie Ellis, WIld Care’s Executive Director. “Wild Care is not open to
the public, so this is the one day of the year when we can give people a
sneak peek at what we do. It is such a fun event for children and adults of
all ages. The rain didn’t frighten anyone away. In fact, we had our best
turnout ever, with over 200 people in attendance throughout the day. We are
thrilled to offer this event to our wonderful, wildlife-loving community,
and to give back to them for their continued support of our work all
year-long.”
