CAPE COD CRANBERRY DAY AT GREEN BRIAR

Spend an early fall day enjoying all that the Green Briar Nature Center &
Jam Kitchen has to offer during its 18th  Annual Cape Cod Cranberry Day on
Saturday, September 29th  from 11am to 4pm. Green Briar celebrates this
native berry so prominent in the history of Cape Cod with cooking
demonstrations in its historic Jam Kitchen using traditional cranberry
recipes.  A special cranberry dessert is served from 11am to 4pm for a $5
fee.  The day's activities include guided tours of a neighboring bog at
11:00am and 1:15pm and a "Frog in the Bog" story time for families at 12pm.
Fees for Bog Tours are $3 per person, Story Time $2 per person.   The
Cardboard & Tape Gallery from 11am to 2pm invites families to use their
imaginations and see what they can create using cardboard and tape.  Fee is
$2 per person. 

 

View the gallery exhibit covering the life and works of the prolific
children's author and naturalist, Thornton W. Burgess.  Look for the Queen
Bee in the indoor bee hive.  Browse in Green Briar's new Mercantile offering
our jams and  jellies, Burgess books and a variety of  nature-relate items.
Visit the nature center's resident animals and stroll the grounds around the
Smiling Pool.a special spot in all seasons!   Green Briar is located at 6
Discovery Hill Road, just off Route 6A in East Sandwich.  For further
