JAM MAKING CLASSES IN THE GREEN BRIAR JAM KITCHEN

The popular jam making classes continue during the winter months in the
historic Green Briar Jam Kitchen in East Sandwich. Join in the fun making
your own jars of something special to take home and enjoy or give as a gift.
Expert instruction and all materials are provided to make 4 to 6 jars of
product.  The following Wednesday evening classes for adults meet from 6pm
to 8pm:  January 16-ginger orange marmalade; January 23-frozen raspberry
cranberry jam; February 6-apple ginger jam or apple pear jam; March 6-cherry
apricot jam; March 20-curried apricot chutney.   Saturday morning classes
for adults meet from 9:30am-11:30am: January 26-frozen raspberry cranberry
jam; February 2-cranberry chutney;  February 9-apple pear ginger marmalade;
February 23-bread & butter pickle; March 9-cherry apricot jam;  March
16-cranberry lemon pear jam; March 30-strawberry orange pineapple.   

 

Saturday afternoon classes for an adult and child working together meet from
1pm to 3pm.  Children must be at least 6 years old to work in the kitchen:
January 26-frozen raspberry cranberry jam; February 2-cranberry apple jam;
February 9-apple ginger jam or apple pear jam; March 9-cherry apricot jam;
March 16-cranberry lemon pear jam; March 30-strawberry jam or strawberry
orange jam.  Family jam classes are also offered during the school vacation
on Thursday morning, February 21 from 11am to 1pm making raspberry jam and
Friday morning, February 22 from 11am to 1pm making strawberry jam.

 

The fee per workshop is $45 for members of the Thornton W. Burgess Society,
$55 for non-members.  The fee includes one adult and one child in the family
