This Saturday, September 17 from 11-11:45 a.m. at Mass Audubon's Wellfleet Bay Wildlife Sanctuary, kids and their families can learn about Salt, the most famous humpback whale in New England. Written by local marine biologist Carol "Krill" Carson and illustrated by Adam Whittier, My Friend Salt is a children's book that looks at the life of a humpback whale through the eyes of Salt, a prolific humpback whale with fourteen children, fifteen grandchildren and even 2 great grandchildren, who returns each summer to the waters off Cape Cod to feed. Join Carson for a special presentation followed by a reading of her delightful book. Proceeds from the sale of the book benefit the non-profit New England Coastal Wildlife Alliance. The program is free with sanctuary admission. Register online at www.massaudubon.org/wellfleetbay or by calling 508-349-2615.
