CAPE BIRDING EXCURSIONS

The Thornton W. Burgess Society is pleased to offer more birding excursions
with Cape naturalist and field leader John Hanlon to a variety of habitats
on the Cape.  On Saturday, October 29 participants will meet at 7:00am at
the Green Briar Nature Center in East Sandwich and travel by passenger van
to local sites, returning by 10:00am.  An additional birding excursion is
scheduled for Saturday, November 19.  John has worked for the National Park
Service on Cape Cod and at Yellowstone, the Cape Cod Museum of Natural
History and as a Coastal Shorebird monitor for the Massachusetts Audubon
Society.  

 

These trips are open to all levels, especially beginners looking to develop
their birding skills and others wishing to improve their ID sound and sight
skills.  Dress for the weather and bring binoculars or borrow a pair with
advance notice.  The fee per trip is $12 for Burgess Society members, $16
for non-members.  Advance registration is required by calling 508-888-6870.
