BIRDING EXCURSION ON THE UPPER CAPE

On Saturday, June 4 the Thornton W. Burgess Society offers a "Birding
Excursion" with Cape naturalist and field leader John Hanlon, leaving from
the Green Briar Nature Center in East Sandwich by passenger van at 7:00am
and returning by 10:00am.  Look for resident birds along the rivers and
ponds of South Sandwich and Mashpee areas, including Ryder Conservation
Area, Lowell Holly Reservation and the Mashpee River Woodlands Reservations.
Be prepared to walk along uneven woodland trails and paths.  Bring
binoculars or borrow a pair with advance notice. The fee is $12 for Burgess
Society members, $16 for non-members.  Paid registration is required by
calling 508-888-6870.
