Calling all Plymouth residents who would like to learn how to sustainably harvest surf clams and prepare clam recipes! Goldenrod Foundation is offering a morning course on August 13 from 6:45 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. We will meet in the Long Beach main parking lot where you will get a ride out to the Goldenrod field station. After an introduction to surf clam ecology and conservation, we will grab pitchforks and buckets and head onto the sand flats. We’ll teach you how to find and dig the clams, how to shuck them and how to cook them. And, then, of course, we will eat them!
To participate, you must have a Plymouth resident’s shell-fishing license, available at Town Hall for $10 (free for seniors). The fee for this program is $15. Space is limited, so sign up soon by visiting: http://www.goldenrod.org/blog/events/learn-to-clam or emailing: dss at goldenrod.org,
