The Science and Stories of Archaeology

Join DCR's state Archaeologist Ellen Berkland for a look at the methods and tools used to uncover stories from the past. Ellen will discuss important discoveries from around the state, and the latest technologies used by archaeologists working in the field today. Learn how the Cape's history is still being discovered and what can be learned from ancient shell middens left by local Native Americans. After the talk, visit a traditional Wampanoag wetu (wigwam) outside the visitor center and follow our trail to historic Bay View Cemetery.
