Summer Employment in Woods Hole: Part-Time Help Wanted 


We seek to fill two teaching positions: 
Lead and Assistant Instructors, Coastal Explorers Program, Marine Biological Laboratory, Woods Hole 


These part-time positions start in June (for program planning & setup) and end in early August 
Coastal Explorer classes are held from 10am to 2pm at the MBL Club, 127 Water Street 
in Woods Hole, Tuesdays and Thursdays, July 3 to August 9 

The Marine Biological Laboratory (MBL) seeks experienced, responsible, and energetic individuals to continue the Coastal Explorers Program, a summer educational program for 4-6 year olds in Woods Hole. 


Responsibilities include the planning and daily operations of the Coastal Explorers program, a two-day class for children ages 4, 5, and 6. Opportunity to build / model the program based on Lead Instructor knowledge and teaching model. Knowledge of preschool education, Woods Hole coastline, native species essential. Together, the Lead and Assistant Instructors will develop and execute curriculum including hands-on art projects and musical activities. 


Must be able to participate in the physical activities of the program. Must be comfortable and confident in and around the ocean. Visit http://www.mbl.edu/mblclub/ for more details about Coastal Explorers.

DUTIES: 


    • Curriculum development 
    • Identify and purchase materials needed for program (you will be reimbursed) 
    • Coordinate with Woods Hole Aquarium and MBL’s Marine Resources Center for daily field trips 
    • Ability and willingness to get on floor, laugh and play, and take part in activities 
    • Ensure child safety at all times 



EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: Education and/or Early Education degree. Must be at least 21 years of age. Must have current CPR/Basic First Aid. CORI check required.
