      *Don't miss this unique "live from the seafloor" event!* Join a
      team of scientists both at-sea and onshore as they explore the
      Galápagos Rift, where scientists first discovered life at
      hydrothermal vents. Watch live streaming video from the expedition
      as WHOI biologist Tim Shank <http://www.whoi.edu/profile/tshank/>
      describes the scene in real-time from aboard the NOAA R/V /Okeanos
      Explorer/.


      The 1977 discovery of deep-sea hydrothermal vents and the
      remarkable animals that live there profoundly and permanently
      changed our view of life on Earth.


      Redfield Auditorium is located at the corner of Water and School
      Streets in Woods Hole. This event is free and open to the public.
