To our fellow educators,

As someone with an interest in our oceans you may be familiar with some of the top names in the marine world: Jacques Cousteau, Dr Robert Ballard, Dr. Sylvia Earle, and National Geographic photographer, Brian Skerry. What do these people have in common? They are among the members of one of the oldest SCUBA Clubs in the nation, the Boston Sea Rovers. This group is known throughout the world as the dive club that is "Dedicated to Raising the Level of Knowledge of the Underwater World", and each year promotes "The Longest Running Underwater Show on Earth" to fulfill their goal. But the Sea Rovers are much more than that.

Every March for the last 57 years the Sea Rovers have held a clinic for the public dedicated to increasing the awareness and appreciation of the marine environment. The clinic has grown over the years to include daytime seminars, workshops, an international film festival, and the largest display of dive equipment and services in New England. Thanks to a portion of the proceeds raised from the clinic, the Sea Rovers have also been able to sponsor scholarships and create internships to benefit students.

This weekend is an amazing chance for you and your students to experience the wonder of the ocean and explore many topics concerning the ocean with some of the best marine professionals in the world.

This year, the Film Festival will feature notable presenters including:

 * Dr Robert Ballard, known for discovering the Titanic and other ocean discoveries
 * Michael Pitts, known for his work on the TV series "Life" and "Blue Planet."

Daytime events will include:

 * Fabulous speakers including well-known marine photographers, scientists and other marine professionals.
 * DISCOVER SCUBA- A chance to try out scuba, FREE, with local dive shops

The 2011 clinic will be held on March 5th-6th 2011 at our new home, the Crowne Plaza Boston North Shore in Danvers, MA. Parking is FREE and significant student discounts are available with ID.

For more information about the clinic and our internship programs, we encourage you and your students to visit our website www.bostonsearovers.com<http://www.bostonsearovers.com/>, our Facebook page, or contact us at educators at bostonsearovers.com<mailto:educators at bostonsearovers.com>.

Thank you very much for your time.

Sincerely,

The Boston Sea Rovers
