11.0pt'>As someone with an interest in our oceans you may be familiar with some
of the top names in the marine world: <b><i><span style='font-weight:bold;
font-style:italic'>Jacques Cousteau</span></i></b>, <b><i><span
style='font-weight:bold;font-style:italic'>Dr Robert Ballard</span></i></b>, <b><i><span
style='font-weight:bold;font-style:italic'>Dr. Sylvia Earle, </span></i></b>and
<b><i><span style='font-weight:bold;font-style:italic'>National Geographic
photographer, Brian Skerry</span></i></b>. What do these people have in common?
They are among the members of one of the oldest SCUBA Clubs in the nation, the <b><i><span
style='font-weight:bold;font-style:italic'>Boston Sea Rovers</span></i></b>.
This group is known throughout the world as the dive club that is “<i><span
style='font-style:italic'>Dedicated to Raising the Level of Knowledge of
the Underwater World</span></i>”, and each year promotes “The
Longest Running Underwater Show on Earth” to fulfill their goal.
But the Sea Rovers are much more than that. <o:p></o:p></span></font></p>
<p class=MsoNormal><font size=2 face="Times New Roman"><span style='font-size:
11.0pt'><o:p> </o:p></span></font></p>
<p class=MsoNormal><font size=2 face="Times New Roman"><span style='font-size:
11.0pt'>Every March for the last 57 years the Sea Rovers have held a clinic for
the public dedicated to increasing the <b><i><span style='font-weight:bold;
font-style:italic'>awareness</span></i></b> and <b><i><span style='font-weight:
bold;font-style:italic'>appreciation of the marine environment</span></i></b>.
The clinic has grown over the years to include daytime seminars, workshops, an
international film festival, and the largest display of dive equipment and
services in <st1:place w:st="on">New England</st1:place>. Thanks to a
portion of the proceeds raised from the clinic, the Sea Rovers have also been
able to sponsor <b><i><span style='font-weight:bold;font-style:italic'>scholarships</span></i></b>
and <b><i><span style='font-weight:bold;font-style:italic'>create internships</span></i></b>
to benefit students. <o:p></o:p></span></font></p>
