REMEMBERING ONE OF THE GREAT ENVIRONMENTALISTS
Rachel Carson was one of the great environmentalists of the 20th century.
Every year, "Ray" Carson is remembered during the annual Rachel Carson
Harvest Dinner in Falmouth.
This year, she is being honored by a series of events in February and
March. Next year marks the 50th anniversary of the publication of the book
"Silent Spring." More events are anticipated.
A presentation about the spirituality and ethics of Rachel Carson will
take place on Wednesday night, February 16th, at the Unitarian Universalist
church in Falmouth. The event is free and it's open to the public. The
main speaker will be Robert Murphy, who is a Unitarian Universalist minister
who has been active with the Sierra Club for forty years. Rev. Murphy
has graduate degrees from both Harvard Divinity School and the Boston
University School of Public Health.
The February 16th event is free and open to the public. For additional
information, please call the church office. Telephone: (508) 457-0449.
