Enjoy the exhibits, books, aquarium tank, trail guides and brochures.
Adventure Back Packs to Borrow
The Reserve has 4 themed backpacks, geared toward families with children, available for your use while visiting the park.  Each one contains information, field guides and simple science tools to enhance your exploration of the Reserve's trails and grounds. Inquire at the Visitor Center. First come, first served.
Reserve  Geo-Cache and Letter-Box Activities - Inquire at the Visitor Center
We've laid out a choice of two special trails for you to follow on your own.

 Geo-caching-  Those who are tech savvy and have a GPS unit can follow our geo-cache instructions from point to point until you find the hidden box.

Letter-Boxing- A combination of scavenger hunt and orienteering that requires a sense of direction and the ability to follow simple instructions and clues to find the hidden container and earn your prize. Bring a compass or borrow one of ours to use.

Guided Programs
Globe Trotters - Family GPS Workshop
Tuesday February 22, 10:00- 11:30 AM.  Best for ages 8 and up, must pre-register.
Outdoor exploration takes on a new level of excitement as we search for clues and destination points using Global Positioning System (GPS) technology. WBNERR staff will help familiarize you with this tool as we travel around the grounds uncovering information about the Reserve and some hidden "treasures". Discover how to find clues to hidden Quests around the Reserve and beyond. Bring your own GPS if you have one or you can borrow one of ours.  Prepare for wet, muddy or snow covered trails.

Quashnet River- Heart Healthy Trail Hike
Tuesday, February 22,   1:00 - 3:00 PM
Easy walking- all ages welcome - Trails may be wet , muddy or snow covered.
We'll exercise our hearts and all our senses on a 2.5 mile hike along the Quashnet River. Along the way, we'll look for mammal tracks, listen for unusual birds and enjoy some favorite forest scents. (Meet at Martin Road Lot)

Estate Tour
Wednesday February 23, 2:00-3:00PM
Discover the history of this former summer estate while touring the buildings and grounds of the Waquoit Bay Reserve. Today, the estate is part of the Massachusetts State Park system and is also one of 28 National Estuarine Research Reserves around the country. Find out how the buildings are used today and about plans being developed to up-date the structures and grounds to better serve the mission of the Reserve.

Winter Wetland Walk - South Cape Beach
Thursday February 24, 1:00 - 2:30  pm
Easy walking-all ages welcome - Please be prepared for wet ,muddy or snow covered  trails.
Explore both salt and freshwater wetlands while discovering how plants and animals survive harsh winter conditions along the coast.
