South Coast Seining Expedition This Saturday Sponsored by the Lloyd Center
for the Environment and the Westport River Watershed Alliance

Dartmouth and Westport, MA - This coming Saturday, October 2, from 10am to
2pm, members of the public (over 6 years of age) are invited to join experts
from the Lloyd Center for the Environment and the Westport River Watershed
Alliance (WRWA) for a rare chance to discover, up-close-and-personal, what
lives just beneath the surface of our estuaries and the water along our
shores. The group will meet at WRWA's main office (1151 Main Road,
Westport) and travel in a Lloyd Center van to a number of key sites in
Westport and Dartmouth. Special seines, fishing nets which hang vertically
in the water, will be used, the ends being drawn together to encircle the
fish, crabs, and other critters which lurk below the surface, just out of
sight. The cost of this unique and fun expedition is $20 for Lloyd Center
members and WRWA members and $25 for non-members. Space is limited. To
reserve your spot, contact Jasmine (508-990-0505 x13 -
<mailto:jasmine at lloydcenter.org> jasmine at lloydcenter.org) or Charlie
