When Breaking Down is a Good Thing

Composting provides huge benefits for humans and the planet by reducing the energy it takes to transport fertilizers and by breaking down and recycling organic material that might otherwise end up in a landfill. It can also be fun, easy and educational. If you're curious about how to get started or want to share what you've already tried, then join Anne-Marie Runfola, who holds a Master Composter certification from  the New York Botanical Garden, to learn about designing a system that works for you. She and her husband successfully housed two very active worm bins in their New York apartment for four years.  We'll also provide the materials for those who are interested to make and take their own small worm bin, complete with starter worms.

Program meets at the Visitor Center at 149 Waquoit Highway.  Program is free and open to the public.  Snacks at 6:45. Reasonable accommodations are available upon request.
