Friends of CCMNH monthly meeting will be held on Tuesday, April 13, 2010 at
12:30pm, followed by the program, 

 

Wing & Dillingham Familys and their 1700 Neighborhood

With Dr. Fred Dunford

Friends of CCMNH members/free, guests/$3

 

Dr. Fred Dunford will be discussing, highlighted by a power point
presentation, new and exciting information concerning the Wing and
Dillingham families as well as the 1700 neighborhood in which they lived. 

 

Dr. Dunford, author of Secrets in the Sand: The Archaeology of Cape Cod,
grew up in Harwich.  He received his BA in Anthropology from Harvard, and
his MA & PhD in Anthropology at UMASS Amherst. He started the Archaeology
program at CCMNH and is currently researching the pre history of the Stony
Brook & Herring River Valley's of Brewster and Harwich.

 

This will be of special interest to field guides to update their historical
knowledge of the area around the Cape Cod Museum of Natural History.
