at the Wellfleet Bay Wildlife Sanctuary 

Numbers of breeding ospreys in Massachusetts have rebounded strongly with populations now approaching historic levels. Cape Cod's populations continue to grow. This talk will focus on an overview of osprey breeding, limits to reproduction, and the geography of osprey population growth. Censusing efforts will also be examined.

Dr. Alan Poole is author of "Ospreys: a Natural and Unnatural History" and currently editor of Birds of North America On-line.
