[SEMCO] Earth Day in Falmouth (April 22)

Several events are scheduled for Falmouth, Massachusetts,  "for the  Earth 
Day season."
 
APRIL 18:  (Saturday night.)   The "Fair Trade Coffeehouse"  will focus some 
attention on environmental justice and the Fair Trade  movement.    All of the 
coffee served will be Fair Trade  certified.  Information will be available 
about human rights and  environmental justice concerns....  $10 donation at the 
door is for the  Barnstable County Human Rights Commission and CIGSYA House 
in Hyannis.   Entertainment by Tim Sweeney, ukulele player;  Belle Weather; and 
 storyteller Annie Hart Cool....   Doors open at 6:30  pm.    Everybody 
welcome.  The building is easily accessible  for people with disabilities....  The 
event takes place at the Unitarian  Universalist church, 840 Sandwich Road, in

APRIL 22:  (Wednesday night.)  The movie "Global Food Crisis"  looks at 
environmental justice and economic justice concerns that are related to  food 
production and food distribution....  The movie will be shown at 7:00  pm, at the 
Unitarian Universalist church, 840 Sandwich Road, in East  Falmouth.    Free 
admission.  Everybody is invited...   A group discussion will follow the movie.

APRIL  25:  (Saturday morning.)    Get involved in  organic community 
gardening!     A work party at Falmouth's  community garden will start at 9:00 am.... 
 The community garden is located  at 611 Gifford Street in Falmouth....  
After working for two hours,  volunteers will pause for a springtime celebration.
The Sierra Club's Cape Cod and Islands Group will provide a carrot cake and  
other goodies.....  This event is sponsored by the Falmouth Service  Center's 
community garden program.   Much of the produce raised  at
the community garden is given to the community food pantry....  For  more 
information about the April 25th celebration and community gardening,  please 
contact the Falmouth Service Center.
