Administrative/Research Assistant - Science in Public Affairs
The Woods Hole Research Center seeks candidates for a full-time position
providing administrative and logistical support for the WHRC REDD (Reducing
Emissions from Deforestation and Degradation in developing countries)
initiative.
Responsibilities include organizing meetings, travel arrangements, proposal
drafting, grant management, paper and report drafting. This position, based
on qualifications and interest, may have opportunities to support and
collaborate in program activities outside of administrative tasks, such as
drafting literature reviews, background documents, participation in
workshops and research activities, coauthoring of publications, and
strategic planning.
The position requires a bachelor's degree and/or equivalent experience in
administration; experience in environmental issues is desirable. Strong
background in Brazilian Portuguese, Spanish or French is desirable; 3-5
years of administrative experience required; demonstrated interest in
environmental/scientific issues. The candidate must be hard-working, well
organized, and self-motivated and able to work independently and as part of
a team. Excellent written and communication skills, and attention to detail
and multi-tasking are required. Proficiency in Microsoft Office is required.
Salary Range: $40,000 to $45,000 with benefits.
