Book Signing by Gil Newton, Adjunct Faculty at Cape Cod Community
College Environmental Program - sponsored by the Students for
Sustainability. Thursday, December 11, 2008 at 3pm in the Lorusso
Applied Technology Building - CCCC Campus

Gil Newton, an adjunct instructor at the Cape Cod Community College, has
written a field guide "Seaweeds of Cape Cod Shores" published by the
Cape Cod Museum of Natural History. This book can be used to identify
many of the common marine algae species that wash up on Cape Cod
beaches. The book also explains the importance of seaweeds, their uses,
and how to preserve them.

Mr. Newton has taught classes in Coastal Ecology and Coastal Zone
Management at 4C's for many years. He also teaches in the science
department at Sandwich High School.

The books will be available for purchase. Refreshments will be served.
