On Wednesday, March 21 from 7:00-9:00 pm the Cape Cod Museum of Natural
History in Brewster will host "Whale Whisperer - Listening for right whales
in the sanctuary," presented by Dr. Leila Hatch of the Stellwagen Bank
National Marine Sanctuary.

This lecture, the third in a six-week lecture series on the critically
endangered North Atlantic Right Whale, is being sponsored by the Whale and
Dolphin Conservation Society (N.A.) and the Stellwagen Bank National Marine
Sanctuary.  

 

After first listening to some common sources of sound in the sanctuary,
participants will learn how sound behaves in water and its importance to
marine animals.

 

The charge per class will be $5.00 for students and members of CCMNH or
WCDS, $6.00 for non-members.  Twelve Professional Development Points are
available for educators attending all six programs.  Each lecture will be
supplemented by an extra 45 minute session that provides resource materials
and ideas for classroom activities.  Fee for all six lectures is $30.00.
