Please forward this message on to any individuals you feel may be
interested in such a program. We particularly invite whale watch
naturalists and educators to attend this timely series of talks. The
same programs will be offered at the Cape Cod Museum of Natural History
(on Wednesday nights) and in Boston (on the following Monday nights).

For a copy of the program flyer, visit the sanctuary home page at
http://stellwagen.noaa.gov

A series of right whale lectures will be offered in both Boston and
Brewster (Cape Cod) during the months of March and April sponsored by
the Stellwagen Bank National Marine Sanctuary and the Whale and Dolphin
Conservation Society. The Boston lectures at UMass Boston are free
(small fee for parking) and the Cape Cod Museum of Natural History
lectures have a small fee for entry (but free parking). There is a
special additional program for educators that offers 12 PDPs.

Boston sessions are: March 12, 19, 26, April 2, 9, 23.

Cape Cod sessions are: March 7, 14, 21, 28, April 4, 11.

The North Atlantic Right Whale is one of the most endangered great
whales in the world with a population estimated at under 400
individuals. Today, several exciting research and conservation efforts
are hoping to turn the tide for this fascinating species. Join us over
the next two months as leading experts discuss the status of this
species and efforts to better understand its biology and behavior.

Additional support for this program is provided by the Cape Cod Museum
of Natural History, the Urban Harbors Institute/UMass, and the North
Atlantic Right Whale Consortium. For any questions regarding this
program, contact Anne Smrcina at the Stellwagen Bank National Marine
Sanctuary, 781-545-8026 x204 or email anne.smrcina at noaa.gov
