The Cape Cod Museum of Natural History Presents Guitta Blau on How to Find
and Identify Mushrooms

On Thursday, September 20 from 9:30 am-12:00 noon Guitta Blau, a member of
the Boston Mycological Society, will present a talk and slide show on
mushrooms, followed by a foraging walk. $6/member, $8/non-member.
Registration is required. Please call 508-896-3867 to confirm with a museum
staff member.

 

Participants need to wear sturdy walking/hiking shoes and warm clothes and
bring rain gear, insect repellent, sunscreen and a paper bag for specimens.

 

Mushrooms play an essential role in the ecosystem as decomposers or as
pathogens for some trees.

 

Come and learn about the major groups of mushrooms, field identification,
where and when to collect them, and tools for foraging.
