Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Saves Money and Environment:
Lecture Series Shows How for Homeowners & Small Business

GREEN HOME & BUSINESS: FOCUS ON ENERGY
Tuesdays, March 1, 8, 22, 29 & April 5
2-4 p.m. at Wellfleet Bay Wildlife Sanctuary & 7-9 p.m. at Waquoit Bay
Reserve

With recent focus on large-scale wind projects, there has been little
discussion over the importance of energy efficiency and utilizing renewable
energy in our own homes and small businesses. By acting as individuals we
can reduce our reliance on non-renewable fossil fuels. From simple changes
such as making your home’s current heating system more efficient to
purchasing an electric vehicle for your company—you can make a difference. A
series of FREE workshops entitled “Green Home and Business: Focus on Energy”
will show you how.

Co-sponsored by Cape & Island’s Self-Reliance, Mass Audubon’s Wellfleet Bay
Wildlife Sanctuary, and Waquoit Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve,
“Green Home and Business: Focus on Energy” is a series of workshops that
focuses on energy efficiency and renewable energy systems in the home and
small business.

Talks are scheduled for March 1, 8, 22, 29, and April 5 and will be held
from 2–4 p.m. at the Wellfleet Bay Wildlife Sanctuary in South Wellfleet and
then repeated that same day from 7–9 p.m. at Waquoit Bay Reserve in Waquoit.
Each workshop will focus on a different subject, feature expert speakers
from a variety of organizations and companies, and provide take-home
information designed to help you improve your quality of life, save money,
and help protect the Cape’s natural resources. Topics will include an
overview of the benefits of energy efficiency, alternative vehicles, solar
power, and “clean and green” electricity. The series will end with a case
study showcasing a local homeowner who has employed these techniques in the
construction of his or her home.

All of the workshops are FREE and registration is not required (although
preferred). For a detailed schedule of presenters and topics please call
