PLEASE NOTE CORRECTIONS TO PREVIOUS REPORTS
John Holdren will speak about energy and the environment on Friday night,
April 22, at the Unitarian Universalist meetinghouse in Falmouth. The event is
free and the public is invited. The reception for Dr. Holdren will begin at
7:00 pm. He will speak at 8:00 pm.
The event is sponsored by the Sierra Club's Cape Cod Group. The Unitarian
Universalist meetinghouse is located at 840 Sandwich Road in East Falmouth.
Dr. Holdren is not "a Nobel Prize winner." He reports, "I had the honor of
giving the acceptance speech for the 1995 Nobel Peace Prize on behalf of the
Pugwash Conferences on Science and World Affairs, an organization for which I
was the Chair of the Executive Committee at the time. But it was the
Pugwash organization, not I personally, that won the prize."
Dr. Holdren is not "the new director of the Woods Hole Research Center." At
this moment, he is still the director-designate for the Center. He will
succeed George Woodwell in June.
