Coastal Engineering Manual:
A Highlight of Changes From the Shore Protection Manual
Monday, June 9, 2003 -- 8:00 AM-5:00 PM

Institute; Woods Hole Sea Grant; and US Army Corps of Engineers

The Coastal Engineering Manual was recently released by the US Army
Corps of Engineers Coastal and Hydraulics Laboratory to replace the
Shore Protection Manual, which had long been the bible of the coastal
engineer. This one day workshop provides an introduction and overview of
the new Coastal Engineering Manual taught by authors of key sections.
This is must workshop for all coastal engineers, coastal geologists and
other coastal practitioners.
Each attendee will receive a CD that includes the Coastal Engineering
Manual and a Workshop Proceedings book that will summarize each of the
presentations. Each attendee will earn a total of 7 Professional
Development Hours (PDH).
Registration fee includes lunch, workshop proceedings book, CD with
Coastal Engineering Manual and PDH certificate.
Field trip will be a 3?4-day field trip on Sunday, June 8, the day
before the workshop. Lunch will be provided. Limited attendance.
$175 ASCES/BSCES Members, $225 Non-Members, $150 Public Employee
Members. Additional $30 for field trip.
