WANTED: SUMMER PROGRAM INFORMATION!

Hello. As many of you know, WHOI Sea Grant sponsors
a hands-on summer program for children ages 5-7,
called "Sea Urchins." We get, literally, hundreds
of requests each year for information about
additional summer programs or opportunities for
children of all ages. The requests used to start in
March; now they are year-round. We are sending this
message out to the SEMCO list to find out if your
organization offers summer programs, science or
nature-based, for kids, or if you know of programs
that exist within the Cape and Islands region.

If so, we'd love to hear from you!

The information we're interested in is this:

- Name of program and/or sponsoring organization
- Location where program is based
- Brief description of the program(s)
- Age/grade level per program offered
- Dates/Times
- Fees
- Enrollment, application, sign-up process
- Contact person for more information (name, phone
number, address, e-mail, fax)

Once we receive this information, we'll make up a
1-2 page handout (to respond to our requests, but
let us know if you'd like a master copy to make your
own photocopies) and we'll also post it on our web
site. When it's complete, we'll send another message
notifying you of the URL so you can send people
there if you get lots of requests.

Remember, this is specifically for programs that are
science or nature-based. We're not interested in
promoting sailing camps, girl/boy scout camps, etc.

We've included a sample listing from our existing
flier so you can see what we're after. Remember this
information is outdated, but it's a good example...
