The Lloyd Center for Environmental Studies, 430 Potomska Road, S.
Dartmouth, MA 02780 offers several science and nature-based programs during
the summer months these include:
Fresh Water Wetlands, Grades 4 & 5, July 24 - August 4
Fee: $300 members, $350 non-members
Description: Explore the area's ponds, swamps, marshes, bogs, and rivers.
Designed to be a hands-on experience that will buildan understanding of the
natural and artificial changes occurring in wetlands and develop
environmental responsibilty.
Coastal Ecology, Grade 6, July 3 - July 14
Fee: $300 members, $350 non-members
Description: Study the salt marsh, estuary, sandy beach, and rocky shore.
Emphasis is on environmental awareness and skill development.
Marine Biology, Grade 7, July 24 - August 4
Fee: $300 members, $350 non-members
Description: Take a closer look at coastal ecosystems. Study the anatomy,
physiology, and ecology of coastal and marine plants and animals.
Nature Photography, Grades 5 - 7, July 10 - July 14
Fee: $165 members, $200 non-members
Description: Investigate nature while learning the basics of photography.
Studens will develop their own black and white photographs. 35mm camera
required. Fee includes two rolls of film, photographic paper, chemicals
and instruction.
Exploration Adventures, Grades 8 - 10, July 17 - July 21
Fee: $195 members, $230 non-members
Description: Coe and be part of a canoeing and camping expedition on an
area river, while discovering the abundance of species found on the coast.
This program includes a three night canoeing and camping adventure!
Advanced Nature Photography, Grades 5 - 7, August 14 - August 18
Fee: $165 members, $200 non-members
Description: Learn more advanced techniques of taking photographs and
utilize light to create works of art. 35mm camera required. Cost includes
two rolls of film, photograhpic paper, chemicals and instruction.

Center at 508-990-0505. They can also request a brochure/registration form
by e-mailing the Center at lloydctr@ma.ultranet.com Registrations are
taken on a first come first served basis.
