On January 1, 2001 the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Falmouth and
the Cape Cod Group-Sierra Club will make a commitment to protect our
coastal areas, the ocean, and its wild things during the coming year in
a "Toast-to-the-Coast" event in Woods Hole, Ma. Participants (adults
and children) will meet at noon in front of the Woods Hole Community
Center at 68 Water Street and proceed on a festive walk around Eel Pond
(bring banners, drums, or holiday noise makers). We will stop at the
Waterfront Park (close to intersection of MBL Street and Water Street)
and conduct the toast with warm/cold non-alcoholic beverages, utilizing
poetry, music, brief readings, or spur of the moment declarations. We
will then retire to the Woods Hole Community Hall where we will enjoy
refreshments (feel free to bring something) and honor environmentalits
who have made a difference in protecting the coast.
