[SEMCO] Aquaculture Mini Grant Program

The SouthEastern Massachusetts Aquaculture Center (SEMAC) has announced
their 2001 Aquaculture Mini Grants proposal guidelines.
The mini-grant program has been designed to support sustainable
aquaculture development, promotion, and diversification. The goals of
the program are to:
- encourage industry development and diversification
- promote environmentally responsible aquaculture projects
- identify and/or develop best management practices
- develop alternative aquaculture technologies and species
- encourage private/public collaborations
- advance innovative marketing approaches for aquaculture products
Eligible applicants include:
- industry members
- municipalities
- research and academic institutions
- potential culturists
Applications are due by 12:00 noon on Friday, January 26, 2001, at the
Barnstable County Commissioners office.

For those interested and/or needing assistance in the preparation of
proposals for local, state, federal, and private funding RFPs (Request
for Proposals), a workshop will be held on Monday, December 18, 2000,
from 3:00-5:00 p.m. in Rooms 11 and 12 of the Barnstable Superior
Courthouse (Rt. 6A, Barnstable Village). All interested parties are
invited to attend. Any questions pertaining to the SEMAC Mini Grant RFP
will be addressed at that workshop.
