The Mass. Dept. of Food and Agriculture and the Aquaculture Centers'
Network* are pleased to announce that funding is now available,
statewide, to help offset the cost for growers and industry personnel to
attend aquaculture related courses, training courses, conferences, and
events scheduled between November 2000 and June 30, 2001. Up to 66% of
the total cost is reimbursable upon submission of original receipts.

Applications are available to any industry member holding an aquaculture
permit within the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. The program will be
administered by SEMAC and will be available on a first-come,
first-served basis. To receive a scholarship application form, or to
obtain additional information, contact William Burt, Administrative
Coordinator for SEMAC, at (508) 375-6702. Requests may also be
e-mailed to wburt@umext.umass.edu or faxed to (508) 362-4518.

All application forms must be submitted by March 1, 2001, and all travel
must be completed by June 30, 2001. The state aquaculture coordinator
and the scholarship committee will make decisions on awards and funding
amounts within 15 working days of receiving an application requesting
scholarship assistance. Their decision will be final.
