The Position
The Program Manager position has been created to provide leverage to the
Chief Program Officer by translating the strategic priorities of the
Environmental Conservation Program into an integrated operational
agenda. The Program Manager will be accountable for enabling effective

The Project Manager reports to the Regional Programme Coordinator of

This position involves supporting IUCN West Asia (ROWA) and global
marine’s Programme in the development and implementation of the
Sustainable Fisheries Management for Improved Livelihoods of the Coastal
Fishing Community in Tyre (South Lebanon) Project and the provision of
technical and managerial support to the work programme of IUCN on marine

Total duration of the assignment is 12 month with possibility to extend

Assistant Professor, Seafood Specialist for Extension Services and

This is a 12-month, tenure-accruing position that will be 70% extension
(Florida Cooperative Extension Service) and 30% research (Florida
Agricultural Experiment Station) available in the Food Science and Human
Nutrition Department, Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences, at
the University of Florida. This assignment may change in accordance with
the needs of the unit. Duties will include extension services and
research addressing technical aspects of seafood and aquaculture product
safety, quality and nutrition in both domestic and international
commerce, as well as stakeholder interests in commerce and regulation
from production and processing through food service and retail sectors.
The intent is to maintain the productivity and reputation of the
established seafood technology program currently shared by the FSHN
Department and the Florida Sea Grant College Program working
cooperatively across departments, universities and related programs
locally, nationally, and internationally. The common link is seafood
commerce and consumption in Florida. Tenure will accrue in FSHN.
The successful candidate will participate actively in undergraduate and
graduate education by chairing and serving on graduate committees,

Making Waves Project Manager, National Marine Aquarium

Making Waves is a Public Art project for the whole of Plymouth. It is
supported by a number of partners across the city including the National
Marine Aquarium, Plymouth University, National Apprenticeship Service,

Climate Ready Estuaries Internship Program, US Environmental Protection

A postgraduate internship is available at the U.S. Environmental
Protection Agency’s (EPA) Office of Water. The appointment will be
served with the Climate Ready Estuaries (CRE) program in EPA’s Oceans
and Coastal Protection Division, Office of Wetlands, Oceans and
Watersheds (OWOW).
CRE works with the National Estuary Programs (NEP) and the coastal
management community to: (1) assess climate change vulnerabilities, (2)
develop and implement adaptation strategies, and (3) engage and educate
stakeholders. CRE shares NEP examples to help other coastal managers,
and provides technical guidance and assistance about climate change
adaptation.
The intern will be involved with the development of tools, research
products, or other resources for coastal managers to be better prepared
to adapt to the potential impacts of climate change, in order to

I. Basic Functions of the Position:
The Puntacana Ecological Foundation is currently accepting applicants
formid to long term internship positions to develop and implement
independentresearch pilot projects under their Partnership for
EcologicallySustainable Coastal Areas program particularly projects that
aim to protectand restore the endangered *Acropora* corals. The selected
candidate(s)will be collaborating on a daily basis with the project
coordinator todesign and implement their independent research.
Candidates will beworking on a variable but full-time basis determined
by the intern?s directsupervisor. The candidate is expected to work
outside normal establishedhours, participate in night diving and on
other unscheduled eventsdepending on the needs of the PESCA program.
II. Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Working with the Project Coordinator, develop a prospectus for
anindependent research study for which the intern will be responsible.
2. Work independently to implement the project and use
availableresources to collect all data necessary.
3. Assist the Project Coordinator in activities related to
themaintenance and upkeep of the coral gardens in the Dominican Republic.
4. Assist the Project Coordinator in outplanting and restorationactivities.
5. Participate in, lead, or implement environmental education
courses,workshops, and/or training activities related to the PESCA program.
6. Suggest and design environmental education materials.
7. Help collect water samples when solicited by the coordinator of
thatproject.
8. Assist the marine technician in activities related to coastaloperations.
9. Care for and provide basic maintenance to project equipment.
10. Work with other volunteers or interns to achieve the goals of
thecoral restoration Project.
11. Commit to seeing the independent project and agreed upon

IV. Requirements:
a) Education: We are looking for candidates that are highly motivated
and interested inthe preservation, conservation and restoration of
coastal marine resources.A bachelor?s in one of the following areas is
preferred: biology, ecology,marine biology, environmental studies, or
other similar careers.
b) Experience: The ideal candidate would have experience in the marine
ecosystems of theDominican Republic. Applying candidates must know how
to swim and *possessesa scuba certification *with at least 10 additional
dives above thoserequired for Open Water certification. Rescue diver or
advance divercertification is preferred. Applicants must have the
ability to work understrenuous and adverse conditions including working
with currents, waves,poor visibility, long dive times and continuous
back to back diving days.The applicant must be able to work efficiently,
problem solve, adapt tochanging situations and work independently under
minimal supervision.Interns must complete assigned tasks on time and
with quality; must be punctual and represent the best interest of the
institution. Knowledge of Microsoft Office is required.

c) Duration: The length of the internship is negotiable but a minimum of
4 months isrequired. This is a full-time internship that can be served
at any of theestablished nursery sites in the Dominican Republic. Any
compensation orbenefits are dependent on the location of the internship
and available funding. Interns are not illegible to receive the same
benefits as full-time staff. No vacation is awarded but days off can be
flexible.
d) Compensation and Benefits: Punta Cana Field Site only (all other
sites will be provided at a latertime) ? The Ecological Foundation will
provide the candidate with on-sitedorm stile lodging which have
electricity and running water 24 hours. ? Three meals daily will be
provided. Breakfast is self-served;lunch is at the Tortuguita employee
restaurant which serves mostlyDominican style meals. Interns have access
to the Executive dinner at thesame employee restaurant. ? A small
stipend depending on the qualifications of the candidate,the length of
the internship, and the AVAILABILITY OF FUNDS (Note: thestipend is
dependent on funding; in the past, the stipend has been as muchas 24,000
dominican pesos/month) ? The option of checking out a bicycle for local

(No vacation is contemplated for this internship)
