[All-postdocs] Film Screening tonight, Mashpee Nine Documentary

Hi Postdocs,

I just want to encourage you all to go to this film screening TONIGHT 
(5pm in Redfield). I went to a screening last spring and found it to be 
a very powerful film about events that took place not that long ago very 
close to home. Knowing the history of events is a important first step 
towards solidarity. See details below.

In observance of Indigenous Peoples’ Day, join us to view the film 
“Mashpee Nine: The Beat Goes On” from filmmaker and Mashpee Wampanoag 
Tribe member Paula Peters.In summer 1976 a peaceful gathering of Mashpee 
Wampanoag people was raided, and nine people present were brutally 
arrested.The film documents the history of this event and its 
repercussions as the community drew closer together to support those 
arrested.

A member of the Mashpee Nine will be joining us to discuss the film 
afterwards.
