SoundHAB: North Hood Canal Coccolithophore bloom?

A milky-greenish bloom was sighted over North Hood Canal by staff and
management of the central Puget Sound fish farms  while conducting a
Heterosigma bloom flight.   

 

It may be a  coccolithophore blooms  again and the extent is not known
except that it was near the Hood Canal Bridge.   

 

Last year such a bloom was sighted in late August and early September over a
large portion of the Northern Hood Canal.
