[SEMCO] Exploring Oceanography Program for ages 12-15

Do you have a budding oceanographer in your family?
This program is for them!

Youth ages 12-15 are invited to join us for a FREE 3-day Exploring Oceanography Program at the Cape Cod Canal Visitor Center


Participants will:
* Learn how to use gear and instrumentation to collect water samples and measure parameters such as temperature, salinity, oxygen, and pH
* Develop skills to format spreadsheets & create charts from the data collected in the field
* Perform daily plankton tows
* Identify and photograph plankton
* Prepare and present their work to their families during an evening public program

US Army Corps of Engineers, Cape Cod Canal Visitor Center

Led by:
Jim Remillard, Ret. Science Department Chair for Saint John Paul II High School

Dates:
* Tuesday, July 23 - Thursday July 25, 2024 from 9:30am-12 pm
* Family Presentation: Friday, July 26 from 7-8pm. Arrive at 6pm for setup.
