The Association to Preserve Cape Cod (APCC) seeks a college- or graduate-level intern to assist with our "State of the Waters: Cape Cod" project. The internship provides a paid salary but does not provide benefits. Salary is commensurate with experience.
APCC is a 501(c)(3) environmental organization founded in 1968 to promote policies and programs to preserve, protect, and restore Cape Cod's natural resources and environment (https://nam02.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fapcc.org%2F&data=05%7C01%7Csemco%40whoi.edu%7C3f600d2bdf7b46ba3a9908db87dab68f%7Cd44c5cc6d18c46cc8abd4fdf5b6e5944%7C0%7C0%7C638253145662215208%7CUnknown%7CTWFpbGZsb3d8eyJWIjoiMC4wLjAwMDAiLCJQIjoiV2luMzIiLCJBTiI6Ik1haWwiLCJXVCI6Mn0%3D%7C3000%7C%7C%7C&sdata=U7q3XZG0A%2B4y6bGoMXv5Ln6vXL0VmhTu%2F4T5SWfVXbc%3D&reserved=0 ). As a science-based organization, our programs are designed to provide a sound scientific basis to inform outreach, policies, and actions to achieve goals.
Background: In 2018 APCC initiated the State of the Waters: Cape Cod (SOTW) project (https://nam02.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fcapecodwaters.org%2F&data=05%7C01%7Csemco%40whoi.edu%7C3f600d2bdf7b46ba3a9908db87dab68f%7Cd44c5cc6d18c46cc8abd4fdf5b6e5944%7C0%7C0%7C638253145662215208%7CUnknown%7CTWFpbGZsb3d8eyJWIjoiMC4wLjAwMDAiLCJQIjoiV2luMzIiLCJBTiI6Ik1haWwiLCJXVCI6Mn0%3D%7C3000%7C%7C%7C&sdata=XUanHOz4%2Fu5bcRqV627V14Lon9qcRAxfH2tYGoQhVZU%3D&reserved=0 ). Project goals are to use water grades and an annual report to raise public awareness of water quality issues on Cape Cod, to identify opportunities for water quality improvement and restoration, and to promote action to improve water quality through a Water Action Plan.
