MBL’s is sponsoring an internship in their Blue Economy Internship Program for a Climate Resiliency Coordinator to support MBL/WHOI/NOAA’s ResilientWoodsHole Initiative and associated Steering Committee.
Internship Description: Join the ResilientWoodsHole team to ensure the vibrant and productive village of Woods Hole prospers well into the future with the advent of major climate impacts such as sea-level rise, coastal flooding, shoreline loss, and associated challenges. Woods Hole is home to world-renowned scientific organizations, a vibrant business and residential community, and serves as a vital ferry link to the island of Martha’s Vineyard. With a mission-focused need to be proximate to the sea, the campuses of the Marine Biological Laboratory (MBL), the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution (WHOI), and NOAA’s Northeast Fisheries Science Center (NOAA) initiated the development of a long-range framework to prepare for sea-level rise and increasing extreme weather events. A cooperative effort is underway to assess these threats and jointly develop solutions that frame responses for the broader Woods Hole community. This internship will expose the individual to the complicated world of community-based climate resiliency efforts by supporting the leadership team in the planning and execution of the ReslientWoodsHole initiative. Be on the cutting edge of bringing climate resiliency planning into action by supporting a complex initiative and dynamic group of stakeholders. https://resilientwoodshole.org<https://nam02.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fresilientwoodshole.org%2F&data=04%7C01%7Csemco%40whoi.edu%7Cf24016b5e06a4b2c68da08d9d0886272%7Cd44c5cc6d18c46cc8abd4fdf5b6e5944%7C0%7C0%7C637770106443211115%7CUnknown%7CTWFpbGZsb3d8eyJWIjoiMC4wLjAwMDAiLCJQIjoiV2luMzIiLCJBTiI6Ik1haWwiLCJXVCI6Mn0%3D%7C3000&sdata=tl0%2BWmrYsj0hegqBkegvYLNZjtuF5khjcDY7vgr6RWU%3D&reserved=0>
