All Programs are free and open to the public.  An adult must accompany children.  Reasonable accommodations available upon request. Please dress for outdoor activities.

Family Fun Walk
South Cape Beach State Park
494 Great Oak Road, Mashpee
Tuesday, February 18th
10:00am -11:30am
Walk approximately 1 mile along the boardwalks and bridges of the sheltered Flat Pond Trail. Search among the pine, holly and wintergreen plants for cold weather survival tips and stop, look and listen for signs of wildlife along the way. Observation platforms offer stunning views of wetlands and perhaps a snowy owl or two. Rain or heavy snow cancels. Great for all ages; Meet at Mashpee Town lot at South Cape Beach State Park, Great Oak Road, Mashpee.  For more information, call (508) 457-0495 ext. 125.


Self-Guided: Tread Lightly Trail Puzzle
Waquoit Bay Reserve

9:00am - 5:00pm
Stop by the visitor center for a Tread Lightly Trail guide that will direct you to a series of 9 outdoor signs that describe actions to help sustain our planet.  Answer the question at each stop to solve the puzzle and receive a stamp in the Visitor Center.  This self-guided opportunity is free and open to the public.

Dive into the world of water with activities that help us uncover differences between salt and fresh, frozen and not, and the ways that we use and reuse the same water over millions of years. Common on Cape Cod and active all winter yet many people know little about this insectivorous mammal.  Discover some unique features about opossums and other fur bearing animals. Learn to recognize the signs they leave behind and take home a track ID card for detecting wildlife around your home. Great for children ages 5 and up; indoors and outdoors weather permitting.
