The 23rd Annual Cape Cod Maritime History Symposium
Cape Cod’s Only Maritime History Conference

BREWSTER, MA.— The Cape Cod Museum of Natural History in Brewster is proud to present the 23rd Annual Cape Cod Maritime History Symposium on Saturday, November 9, 2019
9am-3pm
 Schedule of Events:

9:00 am – Registration; coffee, tea & refreshments

9:45am - Introduction by Symposium founding Director, Theresa M. Barbo

10:00 am – The Gems of Vineyard Sound:  Elizabeth Islands, 1641 & Beyond
with Ian Ives, Executive Director of Massachusetts Audubon’s Long Pasture Wildlife Sanctuary.

11:00 am – The Nautical Yuletide: 90 Years of New England’s Flying Santa Program to Support Coast Guard Families with Tom Guthlein Chief Warrant Officer, USCG (Ret.).
12:00 pm – Luncheon and explore Museum exhibits, gardens & trails
1:00 pm – Around the World with Barnstable’s Mad Jack Percival: The U.S.S. Constitution Circles the Globe, 1844-1846 with Robert J. Allison, Professor of History, Suffolk University.
2:00 pm – A Very Fine Place If the Harbor Were Good: Samuel de Champlain’s 1605 Exploration of Cape Cod with Bill Burke, Cultural Resources Program Manager, Cape Cod National Seashore.
Admission is $25 includes morning refreshments, 4 lectures, lunch and Museum Admission.
