*WHALE WEEK OFFERS FAMILY-FRIENDLY ACTIVITIES WITH A BRINY THEME.*

*Annual event organized by Center for Coastal Studies raises ocean
awareness through education and fun.*


*Provincetown, MA *– The 9th Annual *Whale Week: A Celebration of the Sea*
will be held *July 28 through August 3, 2019* in Provincetown, MA.
Organized by the Center for Coastal Studies, Whale Week was started in 2011
with the goal of raising awareness about our ocean, marine mammals, marine
debris, and coastal and marine ecosystems through engaging educational
activities.



This special celebration features several programs and events throughout
the week for a variety of ages. Signature events scheduled during the week
include the *Run the Trails for the Whales 5K* on Sunday, July 28th, and
the *Homemade Boat Race* on Thursday, August 1st. Both activities are
fundraisers for the Center for Coastal Studies’ education department and
require participants to register.



This year also features the first annual *A Celebration of the Sea* *Photo
Contest*. Submissions for this juried contest will be received on July 21,
2019 and an Opening Reception to view the images will be held Sunday, July
28 at Center for Coastal Studies located at 5 Holway Ave, Provincetown, MA.
