** STEM at WORK: STEM Network launches new Internships and Jobs page
------------------------------------------------------------

The Cape Cod Regional STEM Network is proud to announce the addition of a new Internships and Jobs Page to their website. The page lists STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) internships and job opportunities for high school students, college students, and professionals in the Cape Cod region and functions as a place to both search and list relevant opportunities.

Local companies are invited to post their internship and job listings using the easy button provided, and both students and adults seeking positions are urged to check back often as new posts are added regularly. This resource is provided to the community for free by the STEM Network as part of their mission to be an inspiration hub for tomorrow’s innovators.

“The Cape Region is the epicenter for STEM-related opportunities in the Massachusetts water-based, or Blue Economy. This page is an invaluable resource to connect STEM focused businesses, students, and career seekers to the amazing opportunities right here in our backyard,” said Chris Adams, Cape Cod Regional STEM Network Advisory Board Member and Chief of Staff at the Cape Cod Chamber of Commerce.
The Cape Cod Regional STEM Network, housed at Cape Cod Community College, brings together educators, school districts, business and industry partners, and community members who share a commitment to inspiring and supporting young people’s interest and achievement in STEM learning and careers.

WaterWORKS event held Jan. 8 a great success
The career exploration day held Jan. 8 at Cape Cod Community College was a great success. We had over 300 high school students attending and 50 employers showcasing their work in the Blue Economy. STEM Mentors Program launching March 2019
Are you a STEM professional? Do you have an hour a month to share your career experience with an aspiring STEM college student? We are launching a new mentoring program for 4Cs students-- and we are looking for mentors willing to help. Teacher Resources Available
We continue to curate excellent high-quality STEM materials in our lending library. We have FREE kits available for loan on wind power, simple machines, engineering, and electrical circuits for a range of K-12 grades for both in and out-of-school educators. Teachers-in-Residence Program enters its fourth year
We will be hosting the Teachers-in-Residence externship program again this year. K-12 educators receive a stipend to immerse with a STEM-rich institution in our region, and then create a curriculum unit based on their experience. Vex Robotics Scrimmage April 27
We are holding the first official Cape & Islands region scrimmage at the Cape Cod Mini Maker Faire on April 27 at Mashpee Middle & High School. Mashpee HS has received a regional grant for 25 new robotics teams across the Cape & Islands. We are proud to be the event partner for this effort! Come to show your support, or you can register a team to compete at : www.robotevents.com.

STEM Week 2018 was a great success! We are awaiting the announcement for next year's dates...but you can plan on another fabulous STEM Week in October 2019! Thanks again to everyone involved.
