IeR2e7UjvQ2yy-oqRVMmKLEoPy0dg==>  invite local residents, businesses,
students, and officials to learn more about the potential benefits of
Vineyard Wind and other offshore wind projects by attending a forum on
Monday, October 1 hosted by Cape Cod Community College. "Localizing Benefits
from Offshore Wind: Energy, Economy & Environment" is scheduled from 6:30 -
8:00 pm in the College's Tilden Auditorium. This event is free and open to
the public. Beginning at 5:30, representatives from participating
organizations will be on hand with information and poster displays.

"Informed citizens, careful thought, sound science, and active collaboration
are essential to accelerate the transition to renewable energy while
protecting our fragile ecosystems, benefiting our communities, and creating
year-round jobs for local workers," says Keith Lewison, chair of Sierra's
Cape Cod Group. "We can do this, starting now."

Community College President John Cox will kick off the forum with a welcome.
³Cape Cod Community College is uniquely situated to respond to the workforce
needs of our region¹s growing Blue Economy, and we are excited at the
opportunity offshore wind represents,² says Cox. ³Our students come to 4Cs
looking for education that they can put to work locally. Energy and offshore
wind training perfectly align with this need.²

Featured speakers are Nils Bolgen, offshore wind program director for the
Massachusetts Clean Energy Center

Bolgen will address the state's first-mover initiatives to capitalize on
regionally abundant offshore wind resources, as well as provide overviews of
Vineyard Wind and future projects. Kresowik will discuss the benefits of
harnessing offshore wind while also protecting North Atlantic right whales,
other marine mammals, birds, and fisheries.

The forum also will feature an expert panel focusing on specific local
opportunities and issues. Panelists include Chris Adams from the Cape Cod
Chamber of Commerce, Richard Andre from Vineyard Power, Don Keeran from
Association to Preserve Cape Cod, Nate Mayo from Vineyard Power, and Chris
Powicki from Cape Cod Community College.

"Cape Codders are already feeling the effects of climate change," says Lisa
Coedy, coordinator of 350 Cape Cod. "We need to capitalize on the
opportunity to host the nation's first large-scale offshore wind farm and at
the same time lay the foundation required to localize benefits from future
projects."
