Ocean Protection Advocacy Kids, Inc. (OPAK) has two standards-based marine
science, art and advocacy workshops for high school students in
Southeastern Massachusetts. Each workshop runs for approximately 90
minutes-2 hours in your classroom.

The first workshop is called: "Flounderville: Created a Marine Protected
Area"

This workshop is a great opportunity for your students to see how science
fits into policy! Students will not just learn about the need for Marine
Protected Areas and how they are created, but will have the chance to
participate in a mock stakeholder debate to create their own MPA. More
information at: www.opakedu.org/highschool

The second workshop is called: "Plankton & Plastics: What's Drifting in
Our Oceans?"

This workshop brings real samples into the classroom, introduces students
to the global carbon cycle and how humans have impacted the planktonic food
web. More information at: www.opakedu.org/highschool

To sign your class up for an OPAK workshop please contact Jeffrey Morgan,
