MIGRANT WINTER BIRDS
Migrant Winter Birds is the last in a series of natural history topics which
have been offered on the first Saturday of the month by the Thornton W.
Burgess Society in collaboration with the Cape Cod Museum of Natural
History. On Saturday, December 1 from 9am to noon, naturalist and birder
Gretchen Moran Towers leads an excursion along the Cape Cod Canal and then
to a fresh water kettle pond to observe birds we only get to enjoy during
the colder months on Cape Cod. Adults and teens ages 16 and up are welcome.
Participants meet at the Green Briar Nature Center in East Sandwich. Fee is
$30, and advance registration is required by calling 508-888-6870.
DECEMBER BIRD WATCHING AT GREEN BRIAR
"Tuesday Tweets" for beginner and experienced birders continues at the Green
Briar Nature Center in East Sandwich. Join naturalist and experienced
birder Gretchen Moran Towers on December 4th from 11am to noon. Walk along
the trails of the Briar Patch to watch, study and enjoy our feathered
friends in their natural habitat. On Thursday, December 13th from 11am to
noon "Birdwatching for Beginners" introduces basic skills to identify birds
through sight and sound. Then venture outdoors to view birds in their
natural habitat. This program includes a discussion of ideas for promoting
birdwatching in your own yard. Adults and families are welcome for this
program. The fee per person for each date is $4 for members of the Thornton
W. Burgess Society, $6 non-members. Please call 508-888-6870 to let us know
you plan to attend.
