WATERSHED BLOCK PARTY

Join us for an afternoon of fun! Discover local critters, netting in the bay, mini-science experiments, games, face painting, crafts, and a campfire.

Come and meet your watershed neighbors, local organizations, and our interpretive and research staff.

ADULT WALKING CLUB
Abigail Brook at Jehu Pond Conservation
Sunday, August 19 - 10:00-11:30AM
Easy walk, few hills, wooded terrain, views of cranberry bogs, salt marshes and open waters, 1.5 miles. Park at Jehu Conservation area on Great Oak Road.
Walks are part of the Southeast MA Walking Club. This club is open to anyone 16 years and older, no fee to join.

OSPREY WATCH

Enjoy close-up viewing of osprey in their nest and find out why these amazing birds have rebounded after years of decline.
Meet at Reserve Visitor Center.

SOUTH CAPE BEACH CREATURE FEATURE

Learn about a different animal or group of animals found along our coast each week. Meet at South Cape Beach Picnic Area.

Learn about the Reserve’s history, the Wampanoag Tribe, World War II connection, aquaculture and cutting edge research being done today.
Meet at Reserve Visitor Center.

JUNIOR RANGER PROGRAM

Discover amazing habitats, local wildlife, science tools and more. Complete challenges and earn a Jr. Ranger patch. Best for ages 7-12, younger siblings welcome.
July 2 - Survivors of the Sea: Horseshoe crabs
Did you know these creatures are not really crabs? How have they survived all these years?
Meet at Reserve Visitor Center.

Explore nearby dunes, creeks or woods and learn about animals, plants and unique nature facts.

Discover the types of shellfish found in Waquoit Bay. You’ll discover how people are farming the sea to produce more local food and why scientists are exploring ways that shellfish may help restore estuaries.

DISCOVERY HIKES - THE RISING TIDE

Hike along salt marshes and dunes to discover what scientists are learning about these habitats. Meet at Bayberry Parking Lot South Cape Beach, Mashpee.

DISCOVERY DAY

Come explore the Waquoit Bay Visitor Center Saturdays all summer! Enjoy a self-guided walk on the trail, coastal crafts and osprey viewing. Explore with one of our discovery backpacks or picnic on the bluff. Reserve Visitor Center
LET'S GO N'SEINE
10:00AM-11:00AM
Explore the bay with dip nets, magnifiers, buckets,
and a large seine net to sample for local critters. Please wear shoes that can get wet, no bare feet.
