ANNUAL STRAWBERRY DAY IN THE GREEN BRIAR JAM KITCHEN

Strawberry season has arrived as the Green Briar Nature Center and Jam
Kitchen celebrates this luscious berry during its Annual Strawberry Day on
Saturday, June 16.   For a $5 donation, visitors are served fresh
strawberries in a homemade dessert from 11am to 4pm, or until supplies run
out.    Old-fashioned strawberry jam making is demonstrated, made as it has
been for over 100 years in the historic kitchen.  Jam tasting samples of the
kitchen's products are offered in the unique gift shop.  The nature center's
gallery exhibit on the life and works of author/naturalist Thornton W.
Burgess, the small resident animals, a used book sale, the award-winning
wildflower garden and walking trails offer something for all to enjoy.  At
11:00am a live animal story time is scheduled for families.  Story time is
free to members, $2 per person for non-members.  Green Briar is located at 6
Discovery Hill Road, just off Route 6A in East Sandwich.  For further
