Films will be held at the Cape Cod Museum of Art, and presentations will be held at various locations. Please see event descriptions for more details regarding dates, times and topics. Description: Shellfish aquaculture has grown dramatically in recent years and has economic and potentially ecological importance to Cape Cod. Regional growing practices are important to commercial shellfish farms and municipal efforts to restore or enhance natural populations of shellfish. Efforts to propagate shellfish also provide increased volunteer opportunities.
Linking Everyday Chemical Exposures to Breast Cancer presented by Cheryl Osimo, Executive Director of Massachusetts Breast Cancer Coalition and Co-founder of Silent Spring Institute

Description: Dedicated to the prevention of environmental causes of breast cancer through community education, research advocacy, and changes to public policy, Massachusetts Breast Cancer Coalition and sister organization, Silent Spring Institute have teamed up to gather information linking everyday chemical exposures to breast cancer. Their studies span throughout the United States including our own backyard of Cape Cod. Join the discussion to learn more about staying healthy at home and preventing breast cancer.

Description: John Coykendall, a renowned heirloom seed saver, labors to preserve and learn about growing techniques, recipes and folktales of a Louisiana farming community. By preserving seeds, he is able to pass on a legacy that our ancestors passed on to us. Film discussion to follow viewing.
