Talking Turkeys
with
Naturalist Irwin Schorr

  BREWSTER, MA ­ The Cape Cod Museum of Natural 
History in Brewster has a new series called Lunch 
‘n Learn. We are proud to present Talking Turkeys 
with Naturalist Irwin Schorr Thursday, November 16, 2017 at 11:30am.

  As we approach our Thanksgiving holiday, join 
CCMNH volunteer naturalist, Irwin Schorr, for an 
enlightening and fun-filled program on the 
history of turkeys, the myths surrounding them, 
and their importance to Americans as a 
Thanksgiving meal. The discussion will  encompass 
a general talk about the difference between wild 
and domestic turkeys, was the turkey really part 
of the Pilgrim’s meal, why do turkeys have both 
dark and white meat, will they really drown in a 
rain storm, and how did Wild Turkey Bourbon get 
its name? All you ever wanted to know about turkeys but were afraid to ask!!!

Irwin Schorr has been a Field Guide leader and 
program presenter at CCMNH for over 10 years. In 
addition, he has been involved in the training of new volunteer field guides.

This program is appropriate for people of all 
ages, including school age children.
