Registration is Open for 7th Annual ‘Paddle for the Bays’
Event Sponsored by Barnstable Clean Water Coalition
Scheduled for September 16 at Ropes Beach, Cotuit
(Osterville, Mass.) – Barnstable Clean Water Coalition (bcleanwater.org) has opened registration for its major fundraising event of the summer—the 7th Annual ‘Paddle for the Bays RACE’ open to stand-up paddlers as well as kayakers, scheduled for September 16th at 9:30 a.m. at Ropes Beach, 85 Old Shore Road in Cotuit. On-site registration is available race day beginning at 7 a.m.
New to this year’s event is a pre-race cocktail party and fundraiser on Friday, September 15, at 6 p.m. at the prestigious Wianno Yacht Club featuring local food, live music and a silent auction. Tickets are $30 per person or $50 per couple.
Barnstable Clean Water Coalition organizes this popular race to continue the community’s awareness of our watershed. All monies raised support conservation and water quality science and education programs throughout the Town of Barnstable.
Participants in the largest stand up paddleboard and kayak race event on Cape Cod will have their skills, speed and endurance tested on courses of varying difficulty on some of the most beautiful water passages in New England. Beginning in 2016, a relay team event was offered for four people per team, who will use the same kayak or stand up paddleboard. Each racer will kayak or paddle for a half mile for a team total of two miles.
Registration Details
There are two ways to register: pre-register online at www.bcleanwater.org.
When you register, you will have the choice of how to enter the RACE. We encourage you to partner with us and fundraise for our clean water rescue mission. When you register as a fundraiser, you will receive a fundraising page that you can customize to your liking. If you raise enough money to match or exceed your registration of $95.00, your fee will be waived. If you don't reach your goal, you'll be charged the difference. Don't worry, you don't have to fundraise, you can just register and pay the fee. Either way, we appreciate your support.
We have some amazing prizes for the top 3 fundraisers!!
The first 100 registrants will receive a long-sleeved T-shirt.
Please pre-register, as the cost goes up the day of the RACE. Registration on September 16th will be $110.00 for adults and $55.00 for youth.
